Fall is in the air

The crisp mornings have finally arrived and I have been loving it. There is something so great about being in New England during this season. One of our most treasured family traditions is apple picking! We've gone several times each fall, buy a million or so apples and cider, bake until Michael's heart is content and eat plenty of apple treats to hold us through the rest of the year until fall returns. Unfortunately, Michael hasn't been able to enjoy this with us yet. Fortunately, there is still a little time in the apple season, AND even more fortunate . . . he will be rejoining our family on Tuesday the 9th of November. (Don't even bother calling to welcome him home. Our phones will be off. It is going to be a family fun day! Andrew and I are so excited.)

[If you haven't been reading the blog regularly, let me quickly fill you in. Michael is a consultant for a firm in downtown Boston. He has been on a case for the last three years that is now preparing for trial. We've known that these last three months would be crazy busy for him, but I don't think I realized how much we would really miss him. Last week he billed the client for over 80 hours of work, which means he was in the office for more than 80 hours. Probably closer to 90 or 100. We really miss him!]

I digress, sorry. So, back to apples. The boys and I headed up to Honey-Pot Hill Orchard with some friends yesterday and Andrew LOVED it. He ate more apples off the tree (and the ground) than I care to admit. This little farm was perfect. It had goats, bunnies, the 3 little pigs (and their houses!), tractors, pumpkins . . .everything that a 2 year old loves. I took over 250 pictures. It was just too easy. We enjoyed ourselves so much.

Here is a sampler of the fun:

You are more than welcome to come join us for apple picking!! I am certain we'll go several more times before the end of October.

sounds like we had the same Monday night activity on opposite coasts! Wish were were there too and wish I could have seen you for more than 2 minutes when we were there last week. I miss Cambridge and I'm happy to have found your cute little family in the blogging world. I'm new here.
