What do Detectives, Art, and Spokesmen have in common?

Well, I'll tell you. These were all the podcasts of This American Life that I listened to on my 21.2 mile run this morning . . . that extended into this afternoon. I have a terrible farmers tan, a bruise on my leg from a stick that kicked up and smacked me, I have consumed 2.5 liters of water in 3 hours, and I could fall asleep standing. Plus, to make it a "real" run, I still have 5 more miles to go . . .

Not today though. We're going to head to Capitola for the afternoon. I will enjoy hobbling on the beach with sand between my blistered toes!

Here's to the Boston Marathon.

I'm really happy for you that you've escaped a few months of Boston winter to sunny CA! You guys have some terrific pics...and the boys are quite grown up. It's sad to me that we haven't connected for awhile. We sure have been missing you as we have re-entered the newborn stage again, remembering memories w/ Matthew as a tiny boy.

Yea! I was feeling LAME that I missed your CA visit. I am calling you tomorrow to set something up! I would be happy to drive 51 miles to see you and your cute boys. Hope to see you soon.
P.S. Really, 21 miles? Jen, you astound me. Way to go! -Mandy

I'm suffering from poor luck... I'm so sorry I didn't call you back at the end of the week... surprise surprise... I've lost my cell phone again, and yours, Michael's and Kristy's phone numbers are stored safely on it. THAT'S why I haven't called! Then, I tried to leave a comment on here Friday night, to tell you what had happened, and the comment wouldn't go through... hopefully this time it works... Call me! I'm lame.. I know.

Hi Jen and Michael!
We got your blog address from Ashley's blog and thought we'd say Hello (even though it's been forever) There's always time to reconnect, though, right? You have a beautiful little family. Looks like life is very happy.

okay, i am so impressed! its one thing to run a marathon. its quite another thing to be a mother of 2 very young children and training for "the" boston marathon of all marathons. you are inspiring! maybe i'll go to the gym tomorrow for a spin class or something...(wink wink)

Nice work--21 miles! I always had a goal to run a marathon until I watched Mike train for one! I decided a half marathon is more my cup of tea!

I just read about your sister Danielle and hope and pray she and her baby are doing well.
